Useful agent work. Human control.
BlogFactory is an open-source control plane for content teams that want agents to do meaningful work without handing them live-publishing authority.
01 · The story
Why we started
BlogFactory began in Istanbul in June 2026 with a practical observation: content teams were adding AI tools, automations, spreadsheets, CMS connections, and search data, but the operating context around the work remained fragmented.
An agent could write, but it often could not see the current revision, explain a recommendation, respect a site boundary, or hand work to the right CMS without gaining too much authority. The answer was not another writing box. It was a control plane.
Agents should do useful content work. People should retain review, approval, and the final publishing decision.
02 · Philosophy
What we believe
- Authority should be explicit
- Agents can research, generate, revise, diagnose, and prepare an approved CMS draft. They cannot live-publish, delete, expose credentials, or administer accounts through MCP.
- Evidence should stay attached
- Search recommendations need their source, date window, scope, completeness, and review decision—not a ranking promise.
- Newer work must be protected
- Revision-aware writes and optimistic locking stop an agent or operator from silently overwriting a newer draft.
- Operators should own the stack
- The Community edition is self-hosted and bring-your-own-AI. Your deployment and configured providers remain under your control.
- Open source comes first
- The shared core is public under AGPL-3.0-only. A managed Cloud service comes later, after the operational and security foundations exist.
03 · Product
What we build
BlogFactory connects the full evidence-to-draft loop without pretending that every step should be automated.
Agents work through MCP. The web control plane shows operators what needs attention, which version is current, what changed, whether preflight passes, where the draft can go, and which operations occurred.
The same product includes article, campaign, and programmatic generation; Content and Review Queue; Brand Voice; image workflows; Search Growth; site-scoped integrations; operation history; and explicit CMS draft delivery.
04 · Current state
Where we are today
BlogFactory is preparing an open-source, self-hosted release candidate. Docker Compose is the canonical Community topology, operators bring their own AI and integration credentials, and the server-enforced agent authority ends at an approved CMS draft.
